· Mosquito County was created in 1824. It was renamed Orange County in 1845 for the fruit that constituted the county's main product.
· Orange County is currently the 6th largest county in the State of Florida.
· Orlando International Airport code is MCO because it was originally an Air Force base named for Colonel Michael McCoy, who died during a training flight in 1957. Orlando pledged to retain the name McCoy.
· Other than Orange County’s major theme parks, it is also home to over 100 parks, museums, cultural and wildlife experiences.
· Orlando’s Tinker field is named for baseball great Joe Tinker of the Chicago Cubs, who moved to Orlando in 1920.
· Orange County had 400,250 Real Property Parcels in 2006.
