With the conclusion of the two-year term of Laura Boisvert, Progress Energy, as myregion.org Chair, Jeffrey Q. Jonasen, Chairman of the Central Florida Partnership, has appointed Kathleen Gallagher McIver as 2012-1013 Chair of myregion.org.
“We are thrilled to have Kathleen serve as the Chair of the Executive Board of Advisors. Her deep roots in Central Florida and her leadership roles in a variety of community organizations will serve our organization well as we continue to engage and connect regional leaders on issues that matter most,” said Shelley Lauten, President of myregion.org.
Kathleen is a native of Orlando and a 2nd generation realtor, growing up in a family owned real estate business. She is still a practicing Broker-Associate with RE/MAX Town & Country Realty.
McIver serves as Past President of My Florida Regional MLS, Immediate Past Chairman of the Orlando Regional Realtor Association (ORRA), Trustee for the Florida Real Estate Foundation, was named 2005 “Realtor of the Year” for ORRA, and sits on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Realtors and Florida Realtors.
In the community, Kathleen serves on the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors of the Metro Orlando EDC, as Vice President on the Board of Directors of the Emergency Medicine Learning & Resource Center, and the Board of Advisors of Pathways to Home, an initiative helping homeless children in Seminole County.
It is with sincere gratitude that we thank Laura Boisvert for providing outstanding leadership during the past two years as myregion.org tackled issues critical to the continued success of the Central Florida Region. These include the groundbreaking work associated with Connecting for Global Competitiveness: Florida's Super Region, recommendations on the development of a Regional Water Strategy for Central Florida, and the establishment of “Open for Business,” in partnership with The Florida Eight, to address regulatory and government barriers impacting business growth and employment opportunities in our region.
myregion.org is one of four lines of business by which the Central Florida Partnership focuses on “Regional Research and Resolves.” By identifying and examining the changing demographics and powerful trends that are shaping the Central Florida Region – myregion.org is helping to identify the issues and challenges that affect our future.
Working together with Orlando, Inc., (Regional Entrepreneurship), BusinessForce (Public Policy Advocacy), and Leadership Orlando (Regional Leadership), the Central Florida Partnership is moving “Ideas to Results.”
