Congratulations to the city of Lake Alfred in Polk County on being the first city of 2013 to become “Open for Business” Certified! There are now 7 counties and 24 cities throughout Central Florida participating in this regional initiative to streamline the permitting process.

The website also includes a convenient one-stop shop where local government standards for each participating county and city are at your fingertips, offering an agreement across the region on the minimum standards that are applied in each certified local government.
"Open for Business" was successfully advanced by the following Founding Partners: the Associated Builders & Contractors, theCentral Florida Partnership, the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando, theMetro Orlando Economic Development Commission, the Orlando Regional REALTOR Association, and Workforce Central Florida; with myregion.org serving as Project Director.
