"Open for Business"
"Open for Business" was launched earlier this year by members of the "Open for Business" Organizing Committee: Elizabeth McGee, Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando; Mark P. Wylie, Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc.; Michael Kidd, Orlando Regional REALTOR Association; Brian Walters, Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission; and Jacob V. Stuart, Central Florida Partnership; "Open for Business" is being managed by myregion.org and is being led by Shelley Lauten, Project Director of "Open for Business" and President of myregion.org.
Based on the "Open for Business" Business Climate Survey completed earlier this year, the "Open for Business" Organizing Committee launched three "Open for Business" Regional Work Groups: Streamlining Permitting & Licensing, Reviewing Transactional Fees, and Creating Access to Capital.
Each "Open for Business" Regional Work Group was invited to make specific recommendations on how to best address regulatory and government barriers impacting business growth and employment opportunities in our region, with the specific purpose of helping to create jobs, getting "folks" back to work.
These "Open for Business" Regional Work Groups were geographically-based, representing the public and private sectors, and staffed by members of the "Open for Business" Organizing Committee. After several months of work, the Co-Chairs of each of the "Open for Business" Regional Work Groups will present their Preliminary Recommendations at the "Open for Business" Regional Business Summit.
To learn more about this effort, you’ll want to be "in the room," at the "Open for Business" Regional Business Summit. Space is limited, so it’s important for you to RSVP to Pam Clancy at email@example.com, or by phone at 407.835.2486.
