Coming Soon - The Central Florida Scorecard
Monday, August 20, 2012
myregion.org is proud to announce an exciting new partnership with the Florida Chamber of Commerce Foundation – The Central Florida Scorecard.
Four years ago, the Florida Chamber Foundation designed The Florida Scorecard™ to provide Florida leaders with 120 metrics they need to secure Florida's future and give local stakeholders the power to measure progress toward the statewide goals of the Six Pillars 20-year Strategic Plan. What has been missing, to date, is the aggregated regional information showing how Central Florida fares in these critical areas.
Now, for the very first time, through a pilot program by myregion.org, 18 key indicators will be reflected on a regional basis, better preparing Central Florida to address opportunities and challenges from a local perspective. Beginning September 3, these regional metrics will be available on line at www.myregion.org and will include data on: talent supply and education; innovation and economic development; infrastructure and growth leadership; business climate and competitiveness; civic and governance systems; and quality of life and quality places.
"Finally, thanks to myregion.org, we have a smart data source for regional policy makers, community planners, business, civic and social leaders to gauge how we are performing," said Jim Sellen, Principal, VHB MillerSellen, one of the Central Florida Scorecard's funding partners.
This exciting partnership is also supported by key funding partners that include: Florida High Tech Corridor Council, Orlando Regional REALTORS Association; and UCF Metropolitan Center for Regional Studies.
"Over the past decade, we have accomplished great things together including volumes of original research, consensus building forums, and cross-sector relationship development," says Shelley Lauten, President of myregion.org. "I look forward to sharing our newest product – The Central Florida Scorecard – and hearing from you as we continue to build a better future for Central Florida!"
myregion.org is one of four lines of business by which the Central Florida Partnership focuses on "Regional Research and Resolves." By identifying and examining the changing demographics and powerful trends that are shaping the Central Florida Region – myregion.org is helping to identify the issues and challenges that affect our future.
Working together with Orlando, Inc., (Regional Entrepreneurship), BusinessForce (Public Policy Advocacy), and Leadership Orlando (Regional Leadership), the Central Florida Partnership is moving "Ideas to Results."
